Since 1977, Muscle Shoals songwriter Walt Aldridge has worked as a producer, writer, artist, engineer, session singer and player on hundreds of albums in a variety of genres that have touched lives the world over.
Billboard magazine named Aldridge one of the Top Ten Country Songwriters of the year twice on the strength of such songs as Ricky Van Shelton's "I Am A Simple Man". His song "No Getting Over Me" was named one of ASCAP's most performed country songs. "Holding Her and Loving You" was named Song of the Year by the Nashville Songwriters' Association International. The Alabama Music Hall of Fame awarded Aldridge with a star in their Walk of Fame and their Musical Creator\'s Award.
Aldridge was lead singer, guitarist and producer for the country rock group The Shooters (which also featured future successful Muscle Shoals songwriter Gary Baker) and wrote or co-wrote all their Top 40 singles. The Shooters were among Billboard\'s Top Ten New Country Artists in 1987.
His latest venture has been producing country band Heartland\'s debut record for Lofton Creek Records at FAME Recording Studios in Muscle Shoals. The first single, "I Loved Her First", blazed to the top of the charts with amazing speed.
Walt remains very active in the industry, writing, producing and recording numerous artists, most recently Troy Goldsby.
